17 Apr 1945	Battle Honour, Apeldoorn. 48th and RCR enter Apeldoorn, abandoned by Germans.
17 Apr 1964	Change of Command from LCol J. M. Lowndes, CD to LCol P.A.G. Cameron, CD
17 Apr 2002	Cpl Ainsworth Dyer, PPCLI, killed in Afghanistan by friendly fire of US Plane. Dyer enlisted and trained with 48th Highlanders before enlisting in regular force.
19 Apr 1945	Able Coy, in command of arnoured 'Flying column', advance 100 km to Harderwijk on Zeider Zee. Link with 5th Armoured Division. Then returned to Stroe, near Apeldoorn.
19 Apr 1997	MWO W. Darling and 4 Highlanders serve in Manitoba when Red River floods. Over 8600 CF personnel involved from 19 April to 13 May
