15th Battalion Memorial Project

The 15th Battalion (48th Highlanders) of the Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF) was created at the outset of The Great War 1914-1918 with most of its original members coming from the 48th Regiment (Highlanders) of the Canadian Militia.

The Memorial Project was initiated in 2007 to commemorate all those who served in the 15th Battalion, especially the 1,467 who gave their lives during The Great War. The project team is headed by a former Commanding Officer of the 48th Highlanders BGen (Ret’d) Greg Young OMM, MSM, CD.

Those who are interested in the history of the Regiment during the First World War will find lots of information including hundreds of photos not seen by the public until recently.
